# Purpose & Team

The purpose of HoneyPool is to empower financial health to the beras. This happens by: 

* Enabling beras to have a chance for large returns without needing to risk their money.
* Encouraging saving money by offering prizes.
* Directing money away from wealth-destroying lotteries.

**HoneyPool is better than lotteries because you don't have to risk your money.**  

**HoneyPool is better than a savings account because you can still get large returns**

These things also make HoneyPool the best way to introduce people to the power of Decentralized Finance (DeFi). 

## Team

The HoneyPool protocol is a decentralized and open source piece of software that runs on the Berachain blockchain. Because it is decentralized no single individual or company controls the protocol. 

A large community of companies and individuals contribute to the growth and ongoing development of the protocol. You can find that community and join that community in the following places:

Although there are many contributors, the ultimate control of the protocol lies with the HNYP token holders.
